A Discovery M57 conversion is the most straightforward way to keep a vehicle whose body and interior are worth more than its engine. The kit replaces the original powertrain with a BMW M57 and a ZF automatic, which is quieter at motorway speed, noticeably more economical than a TD5 or a V8, and supported by a donor-parts market that is not going away. Everything that has to be made rather than bought is in the box: the bellhousing adapter, the engine and transmission brackets, the transfer case adapter, the cooling and intake pipework, and the engine ECU and loom. What you supply is the vehicle and the workshop time.
