Land Rover Defender engine conversion kits

A Defender engine swap is mostly a packaging problem, and this is where we have solved it most often. Each kit joins a BMW M57 or N57 to the gearbox you want to run — ZF 8HP, ZF 6HP or the original R380 — and carries the parts that decide whether the conversion drives properly rather than merely fits: engine and transmission mounting brackets cut for the Defender chassis, the LT230 transfer case adapter, a cooling package sized for a loaded vehicle, and a loom and ECU that start the engine outside the car it came from. Defender 90, 110 and 130 all take the same powertrain; the brackets and the driveline lengths are what change.
