This bracket set locates a Mercedes Benz OM606 in a Y60 or Y61 Nissan Patrol. It is a true bolt in solution: the engine goes in without cutting, welding or modifying the chassis, which is the stage of an OM606 swap that normally absorbs the most workshop time.

The brackets and bushes are made for strength, durability and precise fitment, so the engine sits where the rest of the conversion expects to find it.

Why the chassis matters more than the brackets

The argument for bolting rather than welding is not really about labour. It is about what welding does to a Patrol chassis that has already done twenty or thirty years. Cutting and welding mounts means heat, grinding and new bare steel in exactly the places that are hardest to protect and hardest to inspect afterwards, on a vehicle that probably lives outdoors. A bolt in bracket set leaves the chassis as it was found.

The second argument is repeatability. A welded mount is a decision made once by one pair of hands, and if it is a few millimetres out the whole drivetrain inherits the error. Brackets that locate off existing points put the engine in the same place every time, which is why this kit is worth buying even in a workshop perfectly capable of making its own.

Confirm two things. First, whether the vehicle is a Y60 or a Y61, since those are the models this kit is listed for. Second, what you intend to put behind the engine, because the mounts fix where the engine sits and therefore where the gearbox ends up. If the gearbox plan is not settled, settle it before the engine is bolted down rather than afterwards.
